An hour north of Missoula, an hour south of Kalispell, Polson is located at the south end of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. There's plenty to see and do in Polson year-round. In the summer there's water sports, golf, hiking, horseback riding, and theatre. In the winter, snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, or downhill skiing at Blacktail Mountain, just 45 miles north. Our area boasts several museums including The Miracle of America Museum and the Historic Polson Flathead Museum in Polson and The People's Center Salish & Kootenai Museum in Pablo. Million-dollar scenery coupled with a small-town atmosphere make Polson a great place to live, winter or summer.

CLIMATE
Polson residents enjoy a relatively moderate climate in both summer and winter months. It is not uncommon to find Polson blanketed in snow, but it is rarely the harsh and bitter cold of other areas. In Polson April will does really bring Spring showers, almost daily throughout the Spring season. Summer sees Polson residents enjoying the beautiful lake and the warm, dry weather. Temperatures rarely reach above 90 degrees during this time of year.

The Lake County Public Library is planning a very special LEGO Launch Party on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 3:30 PM and each Monday thereafter. The weekly Makerspace will transform into a full-blown party featuring a brand-new LEGO table complete with brand new Star Wars, Mindcraft, and DC Comics sets to build. There will be snacks. 3RD ANNUAL POKER PADDLE
Early bird registration is open for the 3rd Annual Flathead Lakers Poker Paddle which will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017.  Early bird registration is avaliable now on the Flathead Lakers website: www.flatheadlakers.org until May 31, 2017. Registration closes June 30, 2017.  Last years event sold out so register early. Limited to the first 150 paddle craft, participants start from Kings Point and choose a Short (1.6 mile), or Extended distance (5+ miles) course stopping at island stops and collecting a playing card at each location.  Proceeds benefit Flathead Lakers education programs and community work to prevent the spread of invasive mussels, promote clean water practices and inspire future watershed citizens. The Polson Booster Club is hosting a Dinner and Dance on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Elks Club on Main in Polson with a No Host Social 6-7:00 PM, Dinner 7-8:00 PM and Music 9-12:00 AM.  There will be a Door Prize, 50/50 Raffle, Raffle Items and a Silent Auction. METHODIST LUAU
The annual HAWAIIAN LUAU Dinner will be at the First United Methodist Church located at 301 16th Avenue East in Polson on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Cost for a single ticket is $15.00, couples $25.00 and children ten and under $6.00.  There will be entertainment and a homemade pie auction following dinner. Tickets can be purchased from a member of the Church, at the door or from Dee at 406-883-0099.  Proceeds are used for local and church-wide Mission Outreach.

Polson Fair Ground's 27th annual Banquet and Cowboy Ball will be held at the Polson Fairgrounds Friday, April 21, 2017 "Under The Big Tent". Tickets to the "Cowboy Ball" will be available for purchase in Polson at Wild Horse Framing, Gull Printing, Crow's Nest Gallery or from PFI Members.
